Our chosen cultures/themes are;
- Native American,
- Aztec,
- Aboriginal
- Zen
The sea is a natural element of the earth, so many species, plants etc are found below sea-level. The seas colours are in the blue/green family. There are so many different colours and shades. To name a few; turquoise, azure, sea spray and opal.
Here is a mood board on colours of the sea.
Flowers are a great element of the world. They have so many uses; medicine, beauty products, perfume etc. There are so many different coloured flowers and so many that can be created by breeding one flower with another, thus creating a whole new flower.
Bright colours tend to be a pattern with flowers, so these colours and the sea colours aren't really suitable for our theme so we won't be using them a lot if at all. But we might come across them in our next research.
These two colour schemes are both very summery schemes and are a trend in themselves. We would like to look at a things that are an up and coming trend. Since trend hunters usually process a season ahead, we are already looking and beginning to follow the spring/summer trends 2011. If we want to look at new trends then we will have to look at later seasons like autumn/winter 2011.
Autumn colours, greens, browns, reds, oranges and yellows are the perfect colour scheme for our theme. Above is a quick mood board to show our thoughts behind our natural theme. Trees are a huge part of the world and we could incorporate them into our final design.
Here is another mood board following our natural theme. Looking at reds and browns specifically. These again tie in with our Native American etc themes.
Now we will begin to think about what we will exhibit in our pop up shop and begin to research and process our ideas into solid designs.
